Dr Qi H. Shao, O.M.D./A.P.

Dr. Shao is a Florida licensed Acupuncture Physician with an NCCA diploma. In 1975, he graduated from the He Long Jiang Medical University in China. From 1975 until 1980 he practiced in a county hospital and was later appointed the Vice-Director because of his outstanding reputation in the medical field. In 1980 Dr Shao became a post graduate in He Long Jiang Medical University in China and in 1983 earned his Masters degree in medicine. From 1983 through 1990 he taught Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Shanghai University and practiced in its affiliated hospital as an assistant professor. In 1990 Dr Shao transferred his practice to the United States and he taught acupuncture and Chinese medicine at the Florida Institute of TCM as a professor. He opened his own practice in 1994.

Dr Shao has published dozens of Chinese medical books and papers, and has 47 years of clinical experience. He has successfully treated over 100,000 patients. Dr Shao is the longest practicing acupuncture physician from mainland China in the area.

Our Approach
Here at China Healing Center Inc, in Sarasota, Florida, we combine traditional Chinese acupuncture along with traditional Chinese and modern medicines. The clever ancient Chinese Doctors left very precious gifts to us: Chinese Medicine and acupuncture. These gifts are very effective tools. They have helped people overcome disease for over four thousand years. I really appreciate our Chinese ancestors and the brilliant ancient treasure they have left for us. I am proud to follow in their footsteps as a Chinese Doctor and acupuncturist.
My own philosophy is that we combine modern medical technology and traditional Chinese acupuncture to develop it further. This helps make acupuncture more efficient.
What makes me the happiest is to help people get well and recover from their suffering. When my patients smile as they leave my office and tell me, “Dr. Shao, I am feeling so much better!”, it reminds me why I love Chinese Acupuncture.

Very fine, ,sanitary needles are in inserted into various points of the body to relieve pain, regulate circulation and improve body functions.
